Company and Employee Attitudes to Dental Plans

5 August, 2011

Popularity of Dental as a Benefit

  • Up to 71% of employees agreed that dental was a tangible, usable employee benefit
  • 21% of large companies rated the simplicity of dental plan over price
  • 69% of employees said they would consider a dental plan if their employer offered it

The 2011 Dental Benefits Survey reported dental plans as a tangible usable benefit. 58% of employees and 61% of companies (across all company size brackets) believing this to be the case. There also appears to be good scope for companies to provide dental plans as part of benefits packages – with 58% of employees who don’t currently have a dental plan stating they would appreciate access to it as part of their benefits portfolio, and 64% saying they would consider a dental plan if their employer offered it.
