National Smile Month – A great time to keep looking after your oral health

7 May, 2013

It’s National Smile Month from 20th May – 20th June and this is a great opportunity for you to be part of the UK’s largest oral health campaign. Almost a third of people brush less than the recommended twice a day* and National Smile Month is all about making sure you look after your smile for life by:

NSM

– Brushing twice a day for two minutes using fluoride toothpaste to get rid of any bacteria that can create gum disease and tooth decay

– Cutting down on how often you have sugary food and drinks

– Using mouthwash regularly

– Cleaning in between your teeth with interdental brushes or floss

Looking after your teeth now can prevent problems with your overall health in the future. So make sure you visit the dentist and hygienist regularly, and make use of your Denplan dental cover.

National Smile Month is organised by British Dental Health Foundation and supported by your dental plan provider, Denplan. Find out more about National Smile Month on www.smilemonth.org. For more information about how to look after your teeth visit www.miteeth.co.uk.
